I received a "present" from Super Fast Handsome. The P90X workout program created by the awesomemost Tony Horton!! Some people give chocolates or flowers in the name of being romantic, but I get workout tips and programs and running sessions :p
Well there are countless websites and coaches out there, all raving about the effectiveness of the P90X. I must say it does seem pretty effective and yields results, Super Fast Handsome is living proof of the effectiveness of the program. But, unfortunately I will not be posting a picture of him here.
So, I started Day 1 of P90X on 7th November 2011 and it is now my third day. So far so good, the workouts are tough, gets your heart rate up and is definitely all encompassing. The diet plan is yummy too, who says diet plans consist of rabbit food should definitely try the tasty and easy to fix recipes provided. What I realised so far in trawling the net is that most recipes use a lot of 'western' ingredients which are either too expensive in KL or too hard to find. But, the P90X recipes use ingredients common here and relatively affordable. Definitely a plus point for me.
All workouts are roughly an hour everyday, which I find easy to slot in my daily schedule. Currently I am doing the workouts in the a.m. at the gym, when it is all quiet and barely anyone around. As for my running, I still intend to continue my practise runs, most probably in the evenings after work, about 3 or 4 times a week.
The program comes with a schedule to help you keep track of your progress. You key in your weight, height, waist and hip measurements and your body fat is automatically calculated. To actually motivate myself to work out harder ("DO YOUR BEST, FORGET THE REST!!" Hieeee Tony!!) I will state that my weight is now 48kg at the 'tall' height of 153cm. (okay, don't laugh) I may look petite in person, but I seriously suffer from the skinny fat syndrome. So do not be fooled. My body fat is at a mind-blowing 26% (in fit talk, I am considered obese). I don't look at BMI because it is not accurate for my case. Now that this sacrilege is made public, I have no choice but to work out hard and get fitter and stronger, in order not to embarrass myself in my next update on P90X.
Good luck to anyone out there trying P90X and don't forget to "Bring It!!!"
