P90X - Week 2

Monday, recovering from post-trauma from the weekend. I didn't sleep much during those 2 days, any light noise woke me up and I was constantly tossing and Monday morning found me awake at 4a.m. I had already planned to hit the gym by 6 in order to start Week 2 of P90X.

I daresay chest and back is my favourite workout of all the choices. It just makes me feel strong! And instant gratification when I look in the mirror after (oops, or maybe its just me, tehehe) So, I prepared my protein shake with strawberries (yummehh, my favourite too, unlike blueberries which just suck, but I won't go there, long story) for my immediate drinking pleasure after the workout.

So I don't watch the P90X videos while in the gym because I prefer to do it as a faster pace. I will just have my workout sheet with me and I write down what I accomplish. So today what I did was:

1. Standard Push-ups: 25, 25
2. Wide Front Pull-ups: 15, 15
3. Military Push-ups: 20, 18
4. Reverse Grip Chin-ups: 15, 15
5. Wide Fly Push-Ups: 25, 22
6. Closed Grip Overhand Pull-ups: 12, 10
7. Decline Push-ups: 12, 10
8. Heavy Pants: 15, 15
9. Diamond Push-ups: 20, 15
10. Lawnmower: 15, 15
11. Dive Bomber: 10, 10
12. Back Flyes: 12, 10

Unfortunately, I can only do assisted pull ups with the machine, but each week I will make it harder and decrease the assistance (if that is even the correct terminology). And I only use 15 pounds for weights, ok I will increase it over time, don't wish to hurt myself.

The hardest for me would be dive bombers and decline push ups. Damn those are sadistic :p

But, I love, love chest and back. Don't you think a sexy back is really attractive? Regardless of gender (drool) Okay please ignore the drool but I honestly think any strong human body should be appreciated, and much respect because it is something earned.

  1. P90x you are going to have to work out for about an hour per day, and clean up your eating habits, but by the end you will have more muscle, more endurance, and even better flexibility and balance.
